Job Description

The Payroll Administrator (20-30 hours per week) maintains responsibility for bi-weekly payroll processing and monthly incentive payroll processing. Responsible for all payroll related compliance. Performs new employee on-boarding and training on the company tools used for payroll. Works with the senior accountant in month end reconciliations and journal entries.
• Employee set up including new hires, changes and terminations ensuring accuracy of employee elections and compliance with administration requirements.
• Process bi-weekly payroll.
• Process monthly incentive payroll.
• Record payroll into the general ledger system.
• Complete quarterly reconciliation of payroll filing.
• Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
• Train new employees on the payroll system.
• Maintain the general ledger mapping of these transactions between the payroll system and the general ledger.
• Preparation of W-2's.
• Sound understanding of state and federal payroll related taxes.
• Oversee annual workers compensation audit.

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 3+ years in payroll experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and payroll principles including multi-state payroll taxes.
• Knowledge of payroll system required - Knowledge of an ERP a plus.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, sound business practices, and good record keeping methodologies.
• Attention to detail required.
• Resourcefulness to meet tight deadlines and flexibility with fluctuating priorities.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in speech and writing, with staff, managers, and supervisors.
• Willingness to learn other areas in the finance department.
• Strong analytical, organizational, administrative and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
• Some day travel between offices may be required.
• Knowledge, practical experience and competency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and Outlook (PowerPoint a plus). Advanced knowledge of Excel.
