Job Description


7:30am-4:00pm, with 30 minute lunch.
$15.00/hr
REPORTS TO: Facilities Director



QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the operation, construction, maintenance and repair of large buildings and utility services. Reliable transportation required to travel between multiple sites in Eastern Connecticut.


JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Facilities Director, this position will assist in the demolition, installation and clean-up of renovation projects; may be required to operate a motor vehicle and move equipment from site to site and all other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs general physical labor with or without supervision
  • Comprehends and applies maintenance and safety procedures
  • Able to work independently and efficiently when necessary
  • Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
  • Responsive, self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A sense of urgency when providing support
  • Experience with all maintenance/cleaning issues
  • All other duties as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have considerable knowledge of building materials and methods of repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic principles and techniques of plumbing, electrical repair, carpentry, painting, mechanical maintenance and masonry
  • Interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills;
  • Considerable ability to recognize maintenance problems and determine corrective operations needed
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams; ability to perform under stress and remain stable in pressure situations;
  • Reliable transportation required to travel between multiple sites in Eastern Connecticut.
