Description:
The role of the Bilingual Legal Assistant is to provide administrative support to the assigned Attorney/Senior DOJ Representative, performing all administrative functions as directed, primarily related to the attorney’s caseload and case preparation.
**MUST BE FLUENT IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH**
**THIS POSITION IS ON-SITE IN WINTER PARK, FL**
General functions:
• Assist the Attorney with administrative related work, such as collection of department data.
• Assist the attorney with the preparation of a wide variety of cases to be filed with USCIS, the Department of State, or the Administrative Appeals Office.
• Assist the attorney with the management and closing of client cases and files.
• Assist the attorney with updating and maintaining client data, including “immigration” information and documents in Case Management Software (CMS).
• Assist with the preparation of petitions, applications, sponsor letters, instructions letters, etc. and compile exhibits and other supporting documentary evidence in a timely manner for attorney review.
• Ensure proper organization and filing of client documents after case is prepared instructions.
• Send completed case work to clients and file cases with USCIS and other agencies.
• Review client information in CMS when new client cases are retained.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of general arithmetic.
• Ability to read and interpret basic correspondence.
• Must have a pleasant telephone manner, good communication skills and good conflict resolution skills.
• Must multi-task well and maintain a time management operating system for program planning.
• Must have ability to speak appropriately about Advocacy and Justice related issues, particularly with phone calls or visitors.

• Associate degree in a business management or related experience.
• Requires at least 2 years’ experience in similar position.
• The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Bi-Lingual Spanish essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Windows XP, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Publisher, Access, Excel as well as, experienced in researching and compiling data from the internet.
• Must be proficient in communication media technology.
• Filing experience, a plus. Must be flexible about work hours and responsibilities.
