Staffing Now, a division of SNI Companies, has an immediate Legal Assistant opening working for our client in Houston, TX. The position is working for a legal services firm that has multiple locations nationwide. The legal assistant will provide support in preparing, filing, and processing all required documentation to support delinquent tax litigation through judgment. The hours of the position are Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. A summary of the position is as follows:

Responsibilities:
- Produce, file, and process legal documents, motions, citations, and trial docket sheets in support of delinquent tax litigation through judgment.
- Collaborate with District Clerks, Constables, Courts, ad litems, and attorneys to ensure accurate and timely case processing.
- Conduct legal research, including address, heirship, and probate investigations, and review District Clerk records for pending suits.
- Maintain and update DTAX and ACT systems, prepare prejudgment payoffs, and respond to taxpayer inquiries related to litigation.
- Provide courtroom and administrative support by attending dockets, assisting with judgments, and delivering payments and documents to the Tax Office or Courthouse.
- High School Diploma, associate’s degree preferred
- 1+ years of administration experience working in a professional office environment.
- Texas Property Tax System is a plus
- Valid Texas Driver License, insurance, and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate technical skills using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
