Billing and Collections Specialist - Contract
Location: Miami, FL
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Billing and Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a strong focus on accuracy, and is passionate about supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing billing processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining positive client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Create and issue accurate client invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely revenue recognition.

Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of accounts receivable, including tracking payments, credits, and overdue balances.

Process daily cash applications, including recording deposits and accurately allocating customer payments.

Communicate regularly with clients to resolve billing discrepancies, follow up on overdue payments, and address inquiries.

Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.

Prepare and file necessary lien documents, ensuring all records are properly maintained.

Generate and review accounts receivable aging reports, providing insights and updates to leadership.

Collaborate with internal teams to streamline billing processes and improve collections efficiency.

Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all financial reporting and documentation.

Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or collections, preferably within a project-based industry (e.g., construction, contracting, or similar).

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar tools).

Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
