Job Description:
The Jr Trust & Estate Associate will support more senior associates and partners in advising high net worth individuals and their advisers on primarily complex domestic estate and trust planning, including working with owners of private capital and their diverse assets.

  • Strong academic credentials (JD required; LLM is a plus)
  • Ideally one to three years' experience with domestic estate and trust planning
  • Strong drafting, writing and communication skills
  • Experience drafting complex wills and trusts
  • Strong project management ability; ability to balance a large number of competing priorities
  • Desire to work directly with clients and coordinate with intermediaries, with a goal of establishing and maintaining long-term productive relationships
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint


  • Exposure to sophisticated Wealth Planning techniques, such as Family Limited
  • Partnerships, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Foreign Grantor Trusts,
  • Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Dynasty Trusts, Insurance Trusts, Annual
  • Exclusion Trusts, Directed Trusts, Sales to Defective Grantor Trusts, Buy-Sell Agreements, Decanting and Private Trust Companies
  • Some knowledge of income taxation of trusts and estates, gift tax return reporting, generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax and Chapter 14
  • International experience
