Job Description

Recruiter needed for non-profit in Mercer County area. Temp to hire paying $45,000 for the right qualified candidate when it becomes permanent.
Essential Duties:

  • Recruit, screen, interview and test applicants to fill vacant positions.
  • Evaluate and refer candidates for appropriate department vacancies.
  • Prepare job opportunity bulletins for posting of vacant position.
  • Prepares newspaper advertisement forms.
  • Requests references from present and past employers.
  • Completes reference checks and inquiries on current and former employees.
  • Prepares and maintains Employee Personnel Files.
  • Enters, updates and prints reports from the Employee Personnel Database.
  • Prepares hire and transfer letters.
  • Arranges appointments for physicals, medical testing, and criminal history checks.
  • Prepares and sends letters of rejection and files applications not selected.
  • Prepares and maintains information for EEO Reports.
  • Compiles data from personnel records; prepares and processes reports.
  • Has knowledge of confidential matters and maintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of the Human Resource Department and the agency.
  • Researches and develops alternate methods for recruitment


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years experience and/or High School/GED and 4 years experience.
  • Thorough understanding of all applicable federal and state statutes as they pertain to employment and equal opportunity programs.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment a plus.
  • Able to speak, write, read and understand the English language
  • Excellent oral, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must possess excellent judgment and discretion when necessary
  • Computer literate
  • Working knowledge of Windows 95 and Microsoft Word
  • Must possess a valid driver's license that meets agency insurance requirements
