Property Staff Accountant - Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to to maintain organizational financial records by performing general accounting functions for assigned property communities or entities. The Property Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting funcitions including monthly closings, cash management, financial reports, and reconciliation of assigned bank accounts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews, interprets and analyzes transactional data charged to property
  • Manages and maintains property balance sheets and income statement accounts to accurately reflect financial activity and balances in accordance (GAAP)
  • Reconciles all bank accounts associated with each property in assigned portfolio on a daily basis
  • Monitors cash balances on a daily basis to ensure adequate funding and identify potential fraud
  • Profit & Loss responsibilities, including cash flow management and accounts receivable/payable activities (both tenant and commercial), as well as accounts payable sub-ledgers/ ledger on a monthly basis
  • Calculates and reconciles all management fees for each property on a monthly basis in accordance with the property management agreements
  • Prepare monthly Net Operating Income Analytic

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this position
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical and accounting functions.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience with Yardi preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAS a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software packages and spreadsheets
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate
    recommendations in a concise manner.
  • Ability to utilize analytical skills and solve problems with reasonableness.
  • Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must maintain professional appearance and comply with the assigned dress code policy.
  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required.
