Large Pharmaceutical Firm in the Lakeland, FL area is seeking experienced Registered Pharmacy Technicians with strong data entry skills.

Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Prepack bulk medicines, fill bottles with prescribed medications, and type and affix labels.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
  • Price and file prescriptions that have been filled.
  • Establish or maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.

Position Summary:
  • Under the direction of the Pharmacist-In-Charge, practice in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for completing all pharmacists' responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Checking prescription information for accuracy throughout various steps in the dispensing process
  • Using professional judgment and resources to resolve DUR
  • Providing appropriate communication associated with patient counseling, reporting adverse events, resolution of escalated customer complaints, and coaching to technicians.
  • Responsible for practicing in accordance with all pharmacy regulations.
  • Contribute to and support an atmosphere of effective teamwork.
  • Monitor the perpetual inventory of Schedule II controlled substances for accuracy.
  • Attend pertinent meetings when necessary.
  • Assist in training and developing other pharmacy personnel.
  • Follow and aid in enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of developments in the professional field.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA.

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State of Florida
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • Willingness and ability to become licensed in multiple states is a condition of employment.

  • Two years minimum of pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of laws pertaining to storage, record keeping, and dispensing of drugs

  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.
  • Focused team player, who can work in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, customers, and management.
  • Work independently with little supervision and meet daily deadlines.
  • Ability to perform repetitious work accurately.
