Our client is seeking an experienced, reliable Payroll Specialist / Payroll Processor to join their growing company. In this role the Payroll Specialist will oversee all payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The Payroll Specialist will work in a high-volume office, processing and managing payroll and reporting for well over 2,000 employees throughout the United States. Payroll Specialist must be well versed in multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees as well as processing commissions, bonuses, expenses and reimbursements. Payroll Specialist will work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise, in order to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Payroll Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently, accurately process payroll for 2000+ employees throughout the United States
  • Manage workflow as prescribed to maximize efficiency
  • Audit time reports to ensure correct payment of wages
  • Audit reports to ensure correct payment of commissions, bonuses, reimbursements and other pay as required
  • Accurately record and document all transactions
  • Research, analyze, and resolve all discrepancies, reporting to executive leadership
  • Monitor all accounts continually for accuracy
  • Ensure accurate taxation and garnishment is applied to each account
  • Participate in end-of-month closing and audits
  • Conduct year-end reporting for W-2s, 1099s, etc.
  • Remain in constant communication with other managers throughout the company
  • Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
  • Demonstrate respect for client privacy

Payroll Specialist Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 3 or more years' experience working in high volume payroll setting
  • Significant experience working in multi-state payroll
  • Excellent computer skills, including well known payroll software and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (importing, exporting, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Solid working knowledge of tax code
  • Strong bookkeeping skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy
  • Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Payroll: Minimum of 3 years (Required)
