Job Description

We are looking to hire a logistics specialist at our Southern New Hampshire client.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain container sheets - update purchase order dates
  • Coordinate documentation with customs broker on imported goods (air & ocean freight)
  • Monitor vessel status and customs release
  • Verify freight forwarder invoices
  • Quote and process airfreight shipments
  • Using Excel, analyze all air shipments with reason for usage
  • Choose service levels and airport of destination
  • Export to Canada, the Caribbean and others
  • Ensure proper paperwork and export compliance
  • Coordinate with Customer Service to reserve inventory for existing customer orders
  • Place purchase orders.
  • Inter-company process - create/maintain sales orders in other plant
  • Request production improvements if necessary
  • Reporting of key inventory and sales statistics on a monthly and annual basis using Excel tables and charts
  • Inventory analysis and development of turnover rates for review of potential obsolescence issues
  • Review sales histories to determine safety stocks
  • Standard cost input & maintenance
  • Purchasing information records maintenance
  • Document export addressee compliance
  • Support customer service in material availability information


  • One to three years relevant experience in Purchasing/Material Planning/Logistics
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • SAP or similar ERP business application experience
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Excellent math aptitude
  • Knowledge of logistics and import/export processes preferable
