Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to join our team at a leading defense contractor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in robotics, programming, and controls, with experience in high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments. This is a mid-level to senior role, and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing and maintaining automated production lines.
Responsibilities:
-Design, develop, and implement robotic automation solutions for manufacturing processes
-Program and integrate Fanuc and Epson robots with existing manufacturing systems, utilizing PLC programming expertise
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
-Develop and maintain documentation for robotic systems and processes
-Optimize and maintain the production line to ensure maximum uptime and throughput, while maintaining high-quality standards
-Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
-5+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or a related field, with a focus on high-volume, low-mix manufacturing environments
-Proficiency in PLC programming, with experience in industrial robot programming and integration (Fanuc and Epson experience highly preferred)
S-trong understanding of manufacturing principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
-Experience with machine tending and automation of manual stations
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
-Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC)
-Experience with other industrial robots and automation systems
-Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
-Proven track record of increasing efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment:
-The successful candidate will join a high-performing support team of 10+ individuals, with a great culture of collaboration and a "can-do" attitude
-The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner
