Human Resources Generalist


Human Resources Generalist needed for nonprofit in Mercer County, New Jersey.
The HR Generalist builds collaborative relationships throughout the organization to assist in managing employee relations issues, driving organizational effectiveness and change management, and working to help create and maintain a great place to work initiative.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, performance reviews, commendation letters, disciplinary actions, etc.).
  • Provide day to day guidance to staff with regards to questions and concerns.
  • Visit all Program facilities and meet with managers and staff on a bi-weekly.
  • Attend departmental / group home monthly meetings.
  • Leverage organizational policies and procedures and / or employment/labor laws to resolve employee relations concerns.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of agency policies and procedures and regulatory compliance to ensure consistency and practice throughout the agency.
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
  • Assist HR Manager with ER investigations. Assist with leading effective, thorough and objective investigations and report any recommendations & conclusions back to the HR Manager.
  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partner, HR Manager and legal as needed/required.
  • Work with HR Management team on other HR initiatives and projects.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a HR Generalist
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Drivers' License
  • Meet and maintain agency, state, and federal hiring standards
  • Results negative on administered drug screen
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 25 pounds
  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Availability to work nights and weekends
  • Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
