Staffing Now, one of the fastest growing administrative staffing agencies, is seeking a highly skilled HR Assistant for one of our local clients. We specialize in matching professionals with the right temporary or full-time job opportunities.
Responsible for:
- Employee Relations like answering all general HR questions, conduct preliminary investigations and escalate appropriate issue to the HR manager
- Administration of employee health, welfare and retirement plans for the company. Benefit programs include: 401 (k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/vision, long-term disability, workers' compensation, leave of absence, Flexible Spending (Section 125), etc.
- Acts as liaison between employees, insurance providers and to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee relations
- Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed
- Establish/maintain employee records
- Answers employee questions about human resources policies and procedures, and refers to HR Manager as needed
- Coordinates new hire orientation, HR events, benefits open enrollment and company-wide meetings
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for over 300 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
- Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, Finance, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Related Field preferred
- 2 to 3 years of HR generalist experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Excellent skills usin MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
