Job Description


Our client is seeking a FT dispatcher to act as an interface between the client and vendor. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining cost efficient logistics platforms to maximize profitability and customer servings. This will entail service optimization, tracking and tracing interfaces or issues and handling the client and vendor interactions.Will need to be able to service on-demand as well as scheduled or routed work.
Responsibilities
- Dispatching and assigning vendors based on demands and service requirements of clients.
- Must be able to adapt and alternate vendor when business conditions (availability, price, or quality) dictate change.
- Have an understanding of planned customer requirements based on schedules for services and/or product flow through the plant/distribution center.
- Consolidate work where customer requirements permit to help increase profitability. Will also need to be able to review scheduled services and make recommendations as to how the cost could be reduced.
- For Freight moves, will need to research alternatives with various vendors and negotiate the best service for the customer.
- Serves effectively as a team member on user groups. site teams and/or CI projects.

Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job.
- Has very good knowledge of general administrative/manufacturing operations procedures and knowledge of job specific processes to execute and complete the more complex duties of the job.
- Has Microsoft Office experience.
- Requires good knowledge of multiple functions or areas of the business in which there is frequent contact with while completing daily work assignments of the job.
- Needs to be well organized.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Will need to be able to meet established deadlines and ability to coordinate phases of work with others.
