Job Description


Customer Service Assistant (Temp to Hire)

Primary Responsibility:
Efficiently and accurately document and process customer orders.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Receive customer orders via email, phone and/or fax
  • Record and process all customer orders and inquiries
  • Process Interco orders
  • Provide order information to the appropriate personnel per defined processes
  • Approve customer orders after checking materials according to the order approval process
  • Enter data for all customer orders received into SAP
  • Perform customer billing and invoicing functions in SAP
  • Perform Pro Forma invoices in SAP
  • Provide support for specialized projects
  • Direct all sales and marketing and technical calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Provide customers with product information, technical data, SDS and sales literature
  • Establish new accounts as needed including credit applications and security agreements
  • Prepare paper work for HazMat shipments
  • Prepare export documentation as required
  • Other duties as assigned



Skills / Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong employee and customer relations skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
