Job Description

Good news, Customer Service Specialists - our client, a leading Safety Equipment Manufacturer, based in the Northbrook area, is looking for a Customer Service Specailist for a 3-month contract to cover a medical leave.

The duties are as classic CSR as they get - you'll receive incoming orders, field calls, document customer feedback into the company portal and help out the company's field service team as needed.


Besides offering a solid contract, the company makes excellent gear, has a modern facility and is a huge proponent of green tech initiatives (you'll see electric car charging stations in the parking lot and solar panels on the roof for starters!). Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Customer Service Specialist include:
1. Processing incoming customer purchase orders, whether received by telephone, fax, e-mail, web, or postal mail
2. Fielding incoming customer telephone calls to assist customers with placing orders, tracing shipments, and providing product information
3. Handle issues, questions and follow-ups for customers.
4. Supporting the field sales force as needed by entering quotations, updating customer data, processing sample and literature requests.
5. Developing new business opportunities with existing customers as time and opportunities permit

Requirements for the Role include: previous Customer Service experience (call center, telemarketing, outbound call center, appointment setter, business development representative and those with retail experience are all welcome to apply); an Associate's Degree is preferred (but not required in lieu of experience), a can-do & friendly attitude, able to field a high volume of inbound calls and navigate between portals, experience documenting issues, and - equally important as the above - able to maintain a consistent schedule!
