Our client is searching for a Contribution Services Representative

SUMMARY - The representative will edit, enter data and balance payroll-reporting forms from which a database of participant service credits and employer contribution history is established and used for pension benefit calculations. These steps are performed for one or more pension funds.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Review payroll reporting forms and identify issues related to missing information, plan eligibility, contribution rate changes, and significant receipting differences
* Enter employer and participant detail from payroll reporting forms into an online computer system with accuracy
* Balance employers' total figures for hours worked and wages earned with the participant detail entered
* Verify data entered with hard copy, compare dollars received with dollars owed, and take action to resolve any discrepancies
* Research files on open issues, generate written correspondence or use the telephone for clarification of payroll reporting problems and take corrective action when replies are received
* Make corrections to employer and participant computer files to clear accounts receivable records
* Maintain files of information for assigned collection areas to assist in processing payroll reports
* Research correspondence files, payroll reports, microfilm, microfiche and system record to determine the correct information for employer and/or participant system files, i.e., Federal Identification Number or Social Security Number discrepancies

PERFORMANCE STANDARD Must be able to enter at least 600 lines of data per day with 95 percent accuracy when completing full processing to include making phone calls, solving problems and closing a batch. Must be able to enter at least 1200 lines of data per day with 95 percent accuracy when only doing data entry.


WORK SCHEDULE
35 hour work week, Monday through Friday with daily ½ hour or 1 hour unpaid lunch


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
* Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changes in procedures
* Ability to learn system screens used on a day to day basis
* Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports, technical manuals and form completion instructions
* Communicate professionally, politely, clearly and effectively both oral and written with participants, employers, coworkers and management
* Ability to read, comprehend and apply plan rules for employers and participants
* Ability to manage the workload assigned and informs the supervisor of the status of work assigned to meet deadlines and production goals
* Ability to work as a productive and supportive team member
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Perform the four operations with like or common fractions and decimals. Compute ratios, rates, and percents. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units
* Strives for the highest level of accuracy possible from the tools and processes
performed. The ability to operate data entry equipment and electronic calculator with a
high level of speed and accuracy to achieve the Organization standard skill level for operating this equipment.
* Ability to gather information from several sources and apply that information to a decision making process
* Proficient in the use of a personal computer (especially in Windows, and other word processing and spreadsheet programs in Microsoft Office)
* Ability to sit for extended periods of time and perform repetitive or short-cycle work
* Ability to work and concentrate in an open area with some noise
* Strong organizational skills with aptitude for detail work
* Ability to focus on details

After six months in this position, the employee is required to have:
* General knowledge of the system screens used on a day to day basis
* General knowledge of the Organization plan rules regarding eligibility for participation, how contributions to the funds are calculated and the steps in the reporting process
* A general understanding of the terminology in the electrical industry used by the union, the electrical trade organization and by the pension fund
