Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is an essential member of our accounting department who maintains and builds relationships with outside vendors and employees. He/she is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable including processing of vendor invoices and employee expense reports, reviewing all related paperwork and internal approvals, matching po's, scanning invoices and ensuring adherence to company policy. This position processes a high volume of transactions and as such needs to be efficient, detail oriented, organized and accurate. He/she also assists with the weekly payment runs (checks and ACH), and maintains the vendor files.

What You Will Do:

  • Process all accounts payable invoices and expense reports accurately and timely for multiple entities.
  • Ensure invoices and expense reports are coded correctly, properly approved, and comply with company policies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements; research and correct discrepancies and/or past due balances.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and act as a liaison between vendors and company regarding invoices and services.
  • Provide a summary of unprocessed invoices to the G/L team for accrual purposes by the appropriate deadlines.
  • Calculate and include state use tax on invoices as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned, including but not limited to: stop payments, disbursement voids and deletions, and research on outstanding checks.
  • Monitor the aged accounts payable for any items that have not been paid or indicate a problem.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for external reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • Associates Degree (preferred)
  • 3-5 years related work experience

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics - GP preferred but not required
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work product
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and a strong sense of customer service
