Job Description

The Medicare Support Specialist acts as the liaison between the insurance agent, carrier partner and client. This role provides customer service including answering agent's questions and resolving issues related to enrollments, licensing and commissions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage the submission of all Medicare enrollments to include Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements and PDP.
  • Process enrollments electronically or by faxing to appropriate carrier in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile outstanding pending case requirements and requests for additional information.
  • Provide an overview to our agents of the fundamental steps for the appointment process per carrier. Deliver quality customer service to our agents by researching and responding to all internal and external inquiries in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Work closely with our carrier partners to resolve any issues on the agent's behalf. To include commissions, appointment status and enrollment issues. Following though with agents to resolve any issues or potential obstacles. Communicate regularly with agents on case status and appointment status.
  • Continually seek to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Entering appropriate information in the CRM system for documentation and follow-up
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by manager including but not limited to administrative and/or marketing support.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others.
  • Strong attention to detail and results-orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Compliance with Insurance Department regulations and internal E&O procedures.
