Procurement & Supply Chain Manager - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Our Ft. Lauderdale based client is in growth mode and currently hiring a strategic procurement leader to take full ownership of their purchasing function. This is a high-visibility leadership role ideal for someone with a technical background, preferably in energy, power generation, or heavy industrial, and proven experience building sourcing strategies from the ground up.

The environment is post-merger, hands-on, and evolving quickly. The team is lean but capable. You’ll report directly into company leadership. They’re looking for someone who can build structure, lead people, and move with urgency, not just maintain status quo.

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead sourcing for mechanical components, maintenance parts, and industrial systems
• Build procurement SOPs and implement streamlined, repeatable workflows
• Negotiate supplier contracts and manage vendor relationships for quality, cost, and risk
• Align purchasing with project schedules and budgets by working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance
• Track key performance indicators and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
• Manage and mentor a team of 3 buyers (no administrative support)

What you bring:

• 7+ years in strategic procurement or sourcing, ideally in a technical or regulated setting
• Industry background in marine, energy, power systems, or related sectors
• Strength in supplier negotiation, pricing strategy, and contract development
• Prior people management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a similar field preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems like Infor, MS Dynamics, or similar
• Certifications like CPSM or CSCP are a plus
• Not a fit for candidates with only warehouse, retail, or logistics experience
