Legal Assistant (Sub DTax Dept)

Staffing Now, a division of SNI Companies, has an immediate Legal Assistant opening working for our client in Houston, TX. The position is working for a legal services company that has multiple locations nationwide. The main objective of this role is to draft legal documents for the legal team, assist taxpayers via phone, and support Attorneys and Area Managers with document production, case research, and tax account or lawsuit reviews.

Requirements:

• Reports: Prepare monthly litigation reports, code Oracle, and manage Tax Dockets and DWOP hearing dockets.
• Document Production: Draft and e-file legal documents (e.g., Petitions, Notices, Judgments), verify information, code Oracle, and send copies to defendants.
• Address Research: Utilize software and internet tools to locate defendants and resolve citation/address issues.
• Citations & Inquiries: Prepare and e-file citations, handle out-of-county citations, and respond to tax account, suit, and payment inquiries from taxpayers, attorneys, and other parties.

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts at $17.00 per hour.  Your actual pay rate will be determined based upon your skills, knowledge and abilities including work experience.
