Data Integration Engineer

The Data Integration Engineer  is a technical professional role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern data pipelines on the Informatica Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform. This role plays a critical part in enabling data ingestion, transformation, and integration in support of the company’s cloud-first data architecture and enterprise data warehouse.

The engineer is accountable for implementing scalable and maintainable data workflows using IDMC's full suite of tools, including Mass Ingestion, Application Ingestion, Data Integration, and API Integration. The role supports both project-based and operational data movement requirements and ensures high-quality, well-documented, and reliable data flows across environments.

Success in this role requires hands-on IDMC expertise, strong SQL and Redshift familiarity, and a DevOps mindset for managing change and deployment across non-production and production environments. This role partners closely with the broader data services team and requires strong collaboration skills.
 

Essential Functions

The essential responsibilities performed within this position include:
  Individual Contributor
  • Implement complex, reusable IDMC integration pipelines using modules such as Mass Ingestion, Application Ingestion, Taskflows, and REST APIs.
  • Develop high quality and defect free ETL pipelines that source, transform, and deliver data into AWS Redshift and other targets.
  • Write and manage reusable, version-controlled integration components aligned with architectural and development standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failed jobs and recommend long-term remediation to improve resiliency.
  • Act as an expert resource on the IDMC application, repositories, dependencies and scheduling mechanism within Andover’s solution architecture.
  • Optimize and refactor mappings and workflows for performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, low-level technical specifications, integration documentation, and other relevant documentation as assigned.
  • Support QA processes by contributing to test case design, data validation, and defect resolution.
  • Provide production support including monitoring, issue resolution, job reruns, and incident tracking.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and the establishment of integration best practices.
  • Profile data and conduct data exploration to support integration design decisions.
  • Evaluate and implement new IDMC releases, features, agents, and connectors in coordination with other members of the Data Services team.
  • Participate in the evolution of integration best practices, reusable design patterns, and component standards.
  • Support deployment pipelines and participate in data lifecycle management and change control processes, ensuring high quality and low risk deployments across all environment promotion processes.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Data Services team to ensure integrated and reliable data solutions.
  • Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate appropriately issues and challenges to reduce project delivery risks.

    • Expertise in IDMC Data Integration components including Mass Ingestion, Application Ingestion, Taskflows, and API-based integration.

    • Expertise in engineering, optimizing and troubleshooting ETL solutions at scale.
    • Advanced proficiency in translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for resolving data pipeline and performance issues.
    • Proficiency with Redshift and PostgreSQL, including hands-on experience with DDL/DML, table creation, and stored procedures.
    • Proficiency with DevOps practices for data (e.g., version control, deployment pipelines).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
    • Excellent time management.
      Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in ETL development.
    • 2+ years of experience in ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
    • 2+ years of direct experience with AWS products, preferably Redshift.
    • 2+ years of direct experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Git, CI/CD, automated deployments).
    • Experience with RESTful services, JMS messaging, or other integration patterns (SOA, EDA).
    • Experience working in the property & casualty insurance industry or other regulated industries with compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, audit readiness).
      Education
    • Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer information systems, computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.


    Requirements

      Physical Demand
    • This job operates in a professional office environment.
    • Most periods of time regularly require standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
    • Some periods of time may be spent in computer room and communications equipment spaces for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Some work requires moving and lifting of moderate to heavy computer equipment.
      Attendance
    • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. 
    • Work schedules may differ based upon responsibilities demanding before or after hours to meet a business need.
    • Remote working for those that are eligible is at the discretion of Management.
    • This role may require infrequent, minimal travel to attend technology education conferences and training.
