Job Overview:
We are hiring an experienced Engineering Technician with a strong background in cable and wire harness assembly, electronics/electrical equipment, and testing. This hands-on role requires proficiency in soldering and current certification in J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and modify electrical/electronic systems, including computers, motors, circuit boards, and batteries.
- Perform precision soldering and repair tasks following J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
- Inspect and test assemblies, wiring, and circuits for resistance, integrity, and performance.
- Operate test equipment such as continuity testers to verify electrical quality.
- Apply end-of-wire components and sealing materials using soldering and crimping tools.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues and improve assembly methods.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly and testing processes.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical/trade certification preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- 1–3+ years of experience in electrical/electronic assembly, including wire harnesses.
- Current J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certifications.
- Proficient in reading schematics and using soldering/crimping tools.
- Experience with electrical test equipment and quality control procedures.
- Strong attention to detail; able to work independently and in team settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CMMI and J-STD-001C Class 3 standards.
- Prior experience supporting engineering or production operations.
- In-depth knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness assembly standards.
