Staffing Now, a division of SNI Companies, has an immediate Legal Assistant opening working for our client in Houston, TX. The position is working for a legal services company that has multiple locations nationwide. The Legal Assistant’s primary responsibilities are to research and respond to taxpayer inquiries, identify and research issues, and draft documents. The hours of the position are Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. A summary of the position is as follows:

The compensation for this position starts at $17.00 an hour. Insurance, and other benefit options that are offered include:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare, proofread, and forward various types of Judgment Payoffs and Releases (e.g., standard, deficiency, strike-off, private resale, bankruptcy, partial, etc.).
- Handle phone calls, emails, and assist with the Post Judgment mail line related to payoff, release, and other inquiries.
- Research, prepare, and manage the Release of Judgment list (twice a year), as well as process payment plans and checks related to payoff.
- Assist walk-in customers, review sale files, and support additional duties as assigned by the manager or attorneys, including customer service and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, associate’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of administration experience working in a professional office environment.
- Real estate/property tax/foreclosure experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate technical skills using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
