LIHTC Compliance Specialist
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for processing applications and recertifications to determine eligibility for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. The role involves interacting with tenants, potential applicants, and providing information about LIHTC programs, as well as maintaining organized tenant files. Travel to properties managed by client company is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Show available units to prospective tenants.
- Process applications and perform annual tenant recertifications.
- Maintain and update property waitlists.
- Ensure accurate, audit-ready tenant files, and conduct internal audits for compliance.
- Verify income/assets and enter data into management software.
- Assist with policy updates, property issues, and report preparation.
- Keep up-to-date with LIHTC regulations.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of LIHTC experience.
- C3P Tax Credit Certification (or similar).
- Experience with low-income or senior housing programs preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency, knowledge of Yardi Voyager a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle various tasks.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
