HR Generalist

Staffing Now Denver, CO (Onsite) Contractor
SNI has teamed with a valued client on a search for an HR Generalist in Denver.  The position is a hybrid role, but the company is transitioning to an on-site environment.  The HR Generalist will work on a small team in an extremely collaborative office setting. This role is for someone with a solid HR foundation who can manage compliance, pre-employment processes, and oversee recruiting efforts. The ideal candidate should be highly process-driven and comfortable handling both administrative HR tasks and full-cycle recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:



HR Administration (45%)

  • Process and manage leaves of absence in collaboration with an outsourced administrator.
  • Administer onboarding and offboarding, including I-9s, E-Verify, new hire paperwork, and separations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy of employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Track and process pre-employment and post-employment records as needed.
  • Assist in managing pandemic-related employee health cases, tracking, and reporting hours for payroll.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.


Compliance (45%)

  • Act as the Assistant Designated Employer Representative (DER), overseeing random drug and alcohol screening programs.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, background checks, and physicals.
  • Manage DOT compliance, oversee audit schedules, and ensure all necessary documentation is securely maintained.
  • Ensure adherence to FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and other federal/state employment laws.
  • Oversee MVR monitoring for driver-eligible employees and manage WOTC reporting.


Recruiting (Oversight Role)

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for real estate roles (currently the primary focus) and other business areas as needed.
  • Handle phone screens, interview scheduling, and candidate process management.
  • Own the offer letter process from preparation to finalization.


Vendor Management (10%)

  • Oversee pre-employment vendor relations, ensuring accuracy in billing and coding invoices.
  • Research and establish new vendor relationships for pre-employment screenings, drug testing, and physicals.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of HR experience, with generalist and recruiting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs required; assessment may be given).
  • Strong understanding of pre-employment processes, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Ability to handle both process-heavy administrative tasks and hands-on recruiting responsibilities.
  • Experience managing HR records, compliance requirements, and leaves of absence.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • HRIS experience preferred (Ceridian experience a plus).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience in real estate, transportation, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.
  • Multi-state HR experience.
