Job Title: Production Manager
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Overview:
The Production Manager will oversee both the graphic design team (3 members) and the operations team. This role requires a hands-on approach, actively managing both teams to ensure smooth production operations from start to finish. The ideal candidate will bring publishing industry experience and be highly motivated to handle the daily operations, ensuring deadlines are met, while freeing up the COO to focus on strategic initiatives.

The compensation for this position starts at $65,000. Your actual pay rate will be determined based upon your skills, knowledge and abilities including work experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design Management:
- Lead and manage a team of 3 graphic designers, ensuring their output aligns with tight project deadlines (30-day printing cycle).
- Actively coach and mentor the team to maintain high-quality design standards while adhering to project schedules.
- Ensure design projects are completed on time and that the design team is well-coordinated to meet production goals.
- Foster an environment that promotes creativity while managing the day-to-day execution of design tasks.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely handoff of projects.
- Monitor design workflow, address roadblocks, and help troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and time to meet production goals.
Operations Management:
- Oversee post-sale fulfillment, facilitating communication between customers and the design team to ensure ad creation and modifications align with customer needs.
- Manage the team responsible for ensuring smooth operational processes, including invoicing and following up with customers.
- Supervise and mentor the operations team to meet daily goals and expectations.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and follow-up with customers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Work closely with the COO to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency across the teams.
- Maintain high-level communication with the sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing both creative/design teams and operational teams, ideally within the publishing industry.
- Deadline-driven mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict timelines.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward meeting business goals.
- Proficiency in Excel (preferred) and comfortable using various project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and customers.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Creative thinking with a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the publishing or print industry.
- Familiarity with design software and creative processes.
