JR Legal Assistant
Job Title: Junior Legal Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Junior Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. If you're a motivated self-starter, our firm offers a fantastic opportunity for growth. This full-time, on-site position is based in Boca Raton, operating Monday through Friday, with an annual salary range of $60,000 to $65,000.
Responsibilities
- Intake and review legal files
- Review loan commitments, credit memos, and due diligence documents
- Examine contracts, surveys, title insurance commitments (and exceptions), amendments, leases, subleases, municipal lien searches, etc.
- Prepare closing checklists
- Collect closing information such as payoffs, tax bills, and estoppel letters from associations and municipalities
- Conduct research and analyze data, including statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents
- Coordinate with landlords, property managers, brokers, and other real estate professionals
- Order title insurance searches, commitments, documents, and policies using systems such as Double-time and Propel
- Collaborate with attorneys to complete pending purchase agreements and develop pre-closing checklists and issue lists for all transactions
- Draft, address issues, and finalize loan documents when representing lenders
- Prepare documentation for real estate purchases or sale closings, including deeds, affidavits, bills of sale, and closing statements when representing buyers or sellers
- Distribute real estate documents, conduct research, and analyze title documents
- Record and file real estate documentation, including UCCs, and ensure documents are returned to appropriate parties
- Communicate with all involved parties (except as restricted by the Florida Bar) via phone, email, and correspondence
- Attend closings
- Process checks and input wires
Qualifications
- Over 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal (preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills (scheduling experience preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, manage significant workloads, and meet deadlines
