Our client, a growing Food Manufacturer in Fort Worth, TX, has an immediate need for a Quality Control Manager. This position oversees the Quality Control Supervisor, Quality Control Laboratory Tech's and Quality Control Administrator. The QC Manager will direct and coordinate all QC functions. Bi-lingual in Spanish would be a plus!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and coordinate all Quality Control Functions within Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform duties described in the Quality Control Supervisor Job Description
  • Inspect and maintain a clean and safe plant in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-Requisite Programs.
  • Perform Food Safety & Food Security duties within the Position of Plant Manager and by serving in the following roles:
    • HACCP Coordinator
    • Food Safety Team Leader (backup)
    • Allergen Action Team Member
    • Food Defense/Security Team Member
    • Recall Committee Member
    • Quality Assurance Team Member
  • Establish and direct Quality Control policies and procedures.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and determine Corrective Actions for non-compliance's found within areas of responsibility and/or as assigned by the QA Manager (or designee).
  • Responsible for Quality Control goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
  • Foster a well?trained and motivated staff.
  • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • Responsible for establishing all Quality Control shift schedules.
  • Select and train Quality Control supervisory, laboratory and administrative staff.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
  • Responsible for testing, verifying and monitoring the Finished Product, Raw Materials and Packaging Quality Control for the plant.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Food Science or related field or Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment, or 7 to 10 years of Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibility.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • HACCP Certification
  • Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Food Manufacturing Process Management
  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Food Equipment Maintenance
  • Project Management
  • SQF Practitioner
  • PCQI Certification
