Job Description

SNI has partnered with a reputable manufacturing company near Waterbury who is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Analyze current manufacturing state and develop action plans using Lean techniques to drive faster changeovers, reduce errors, standardize processes, decrease downtime, and increase OEE.
  • Manage Continuous Improvement Projects, lead initiatives, provide updates, set goals, establish priorities, and manage project resources.
  • Utilize Lean principles to design and implement new manufacturing processes, methodologies, and equipment layouts to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Evaluate plant performance relative to goals and adjust action plans accordingly.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Lean principles, Manufacturing, and Injection Molding floor operations.
  • Analyze process flow and value stream layouts, offering recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and implement modifications to enhance efficiencies and overall plant performance.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes and equipment, including addressing product non-conformance and root cause analysis.
  • Support the development and improvement of Technical Operating Instructions.
  • Design and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment, including documentation and training.
  • Support new automation initiatives and provide lead support post-launch.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Six Sigma training and experience.
  • Ownership and accountability for areas of responsibility.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Solidworks.
  • Experience with automation projects and PLC programming is a plus.
