Job Description

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • High volume onboarding duties of all new hires.
  • Provides routine administrative support for Human Resources Department including background check requests, set-up drug screens, and coordination of meetings.
  • Organizes, maintains employment records and ensures document compliance.
  • Anticipates the needs of and provides support for the functional areas of the department.
  • Prepares documents necessary for internal and external educational programs developed by HR Organizational Development
  • Monitors/orders office supplies and assigned HR services.
  • Makes arrangements for internal meetings and coordinates external seminars/conferences and reservations; schedules and handles follow-up phone and email correspondence for the AVP-HR.
  • Provides phone coverage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma
  • College education preferred, but may be substituted by previous related work experience of 2 to 3 years' administrative experience (in human resources or training preferred)
  • Minimum of one (1) year administrative experience.
  • Well-developed organizational skills; attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong computer skills; intermediate working knowledge of a variety of software programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with databases and/or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred; SharePoint skills desired
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks under minimal direction
  • Self-starter who completes assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to lead by example, adhering to the highest standards of professional work ethics and confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written; ability to write with grammatical proficiency) including face-to-face, telephone, and written correspondence
  • Must be able to interact successfully with internal and external customers (applicants, employees, vendors, etc.), presenting a positive and professional image
  • Able to demonstrate strong ethical base related to mission, including confidentiality, sensitivity, and flexibility
