New Accounts Representative

A banking client owned by a multi-billion dollar investment firm is interested in immediately hiring a full-time new accounts rep, to work primarily at its Crowley branch. It is a $1 billion bank focused on complex bank loans to large corporations and securities of collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). The firm is focused on high yield and distressed credit, convertible arbitrage, risk arbitrage, real estate debt and equity, aircraft leasing and private equity.


  • Services new customer accounts and assists in the branch with various other operational duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Opens new accounts (Checking, Savings, CDs, and IRAs) for businesses and consumers through the phone, mail and walk-ins.
  • Sells and cross-sells bank products and services.
  • Coordinates and reviews legal account documentation to ensure compliance with various regulations (POA's, Trusts, etc.)
  • Assists in the branch with various operational duties and responsibilities.
  • Provides back-up for Tellers during peak hours.
  • Provides customer service for miscellaneous account issues that occur within the branch.


  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years recent extensive new accounts and cash handling/teller experience is required


  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good knowledge of banking products, services, regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of PC software tools, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Effective communication (both verbal and written).
  • Strong decision-making skills.


  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to commit to at least 2 years in the role.
